Another successful season came for the First team in 2026. Once again lifting the Lancashire League trophy, to make it 20 times that Burnley have been Champions, including 5 times Champions in the last 7 years. But also another trip to T20 finals day, as well as hosting the event for the first time since its inception in 2017. After what had been a difficult season in 2025, the First team bounced back and showed once again just how good they can be. They will go into 2027 as the team to beat, setting the standard as they have done for so many years now.
The First’s managed 15 wins in the League to go with 6 defeats and 1 game abandoned. They managed 4 victories in the T20 competition against 3 losses, with 1 win and 1 loss in the Worsley Cup. To bring the season totals to 1 game rained off, 20 wins and 10 defeats across the summer.
Squad
As with the Thirds and Seconds, the First team also went through captaincy change this year. The departure of Tom Lawson over the winter left the role of T20 captain open, with Ockert Erasmus taking on the role from the beginning of the year. There was also a change in captain towards the end of June, as Chris Burton took the decision to step away from the role due to commitments limiting his playing time and involvement with the First team. The responsibility was also passed over to Ocki on an official basis, as he had been leading the team in the absence of Chris already.
The team dealt with two main departures over the winter, as mentioned already Tom Lawson moved away after spending 12 years playing First team cricket for Burnley, making 153 appearances in the League, which includes 5 League titles and being part of the triumphant T20 season in 2018. There was also a farewell to Harry Snowden, who had enjoyed three successful years at Burnley, which included a best of 8-51 in 2025, and helping Burnley to enjoy back to back League titles in 2023-2024.
Though those were the only players to leave for 2026, there’s also two players who were unavailable for most of the summer this year. Chris Burton has already been spoken about, after playing 25 matches in 2025 between League and Cup, he was only able to manage 11 this summer. Which included his first appearances in T20 cricket for 4 years. Though he wasn’t able to play as often as he may have wanted, he offered plenty of support to the team, showcasing his desire to contribute however he can to the club. The other was Dan Pickup, after 16 games in 2025 he only made 1 appearance in First team cricket this year, spending more time in the Second team instead to help them stave off relegation with his experience. Much like Chris though, Dan would often be seen watching the team with family around him to offer whatever support he could.
The new season would see two youngsters take the step up to becoming full time First teamers this year. Jack Brunt, who made his debut last year and played 16 games across League, Cup and T20 cricket, played in every single game for the First team this summer, accounting to 31 matches. Whilst Ishaq Khan, having made his debut in 2023, appeared in 26 First team games this year, and will always be remembered for hitting the League winning runs at Darwen. Both young players setting the example to the rest of the Junior set up that the pathway is there for them to rise up. Jack and Ishaq both being utilised to reinforce the bowling unit with Harry and Tom stepping away.
Along with Jack and Ishaq, the Club also recruited two new players over the winter. With top order batsman Callum Clarke joining from Padiham, and Wicket Keeper- Batsman Ryan Canning arriving from Ribblesdale Wanderers. Callum helped to reinforce the top order and offered his time to help coach the Juniors, whilst Ryan added powerful hitting to the middle order and was able to stand in for Burts behind the stumps. Both experienced batters scored plenty of runs across all competitions to push Burnley back to winning the League title and being strong contenders for the T20 Cup.
Debuts were given to Aayaan Naveed and Leo Tomlinson, whilst Aarav Neherkar was also able to score his first runs in First team cricket after a rained off debut in 2025. Aayaan was a key figure in the T20 format, playing in every game and taking a best of 3-30 in the decisive group game vs Nelson. Aarav made an appearance in every game in T20, up until the Semi-Final, and brought up his maiden runs in the derby win vs Lowerhouse, which featured a huge 6. Leo made only a single appearance this year during the T20 campaign, though he started well, with an unbeaten 4, but is ready to be involved more and more as a batter and a keeper.
Fixtures and Results
League
Burnley managed three wins in a row to begin the summer, starting with a damp home tie against Greenmount. A low scoring affair saw Burnley post 120, led by Liam Bedford with 41, the highest score of the game. Joe McCluskie(12) and Ishaq(10) were the only other batters into double figures. Bharat Tripathi and Ocki blew away the top order of Greenmount to have them 13-4, utilising the spinning conditions to their advantage, though it was Fergus Bailey, who took 4-11, who claimed the best figures to bowl out the opposition for 91. A tight encounter was next vs Littleborough. The opposition posted 176-7, with Ocki taking 3fer to lead the bowling. The reply was headed by Qasim Shah, who top scored with a quick 58 from 65. Callum(33) and Joe(28) offered support, but it came down to the last wicket pair of Ishaq and Fergus. And it was Ishy who hit the winning runs with 16 balls left, not the first time that would happen this year.
The third win in a row was a dominant display over Haslingden. Bedders made 53 to start the game off for Burnley, with Adam Hodge making his highest score of the season in League matches, reaching 34* to push Burnley up to 199 after 50 overs. Only one batter made more than 14 runs in the Hassy reply, as they were bowled out within 40 overs for only 92. Ocki taking his first 5 wicket haul of the season. Regrettably, the winning run came to an end in a derby defeat, by only 2 runs, vs Lowerhouse. They reached 197-9, with Joe taking 3fer. In reply, Ryan Canning scored 35, but it was Ocki that top scored with 81. Needing 4 from the last ball to win, he managed to only score a single, a heart breaking loss for Burnley in the end.
The one abandoned matchup came next, with a rained off tie vs Walsden after 35 overs. Burnley however suffered another loss next against Norden, and this was a heavier defeat. As the First team were bowled out for only 82, only Ryan offered any real resistance with 38 runs. Norden only lost 1 wicket as they cruised to a victory. Back to back defeats came when Burnley suffered another loss vs Ramsbottom. It was a strong performance from the team with the bat, as Bedders(52), Callum(59) and Ocki(65) all played a heavy part in helping Burnley post 238. It was close again, with only three balls left when Rammy eventually reached their target, though they only lost 4 wickets on the way.
The First team managed to record their first win in 5 League games with a dominant display at Enfield. Ocki took 4-16 in 4.5 overs to bowl out the hosts for 69 runs in just over 25 overs. It wasn’t Ocki who starred in that innings the most though, as Burts equalled a club record for most victims in a match, matching the tally of 6 from 1984 with 4 catches and 2 stumpings. Baz also took 3fer as well as effecting a runout. It wasn’t always a simple chase but Burnley won with 4 wickets down after only 11 overs. Matt Roberts and Callum top scoring with 18 apiece.
Burnley started to really pick up their form at this point in the League. Following the easy victory against Enfield, another came vs Clitheroe. Bharat took 5-27 to skittle the opposition for only 67, his first 5fer of the summer, there was also the oddity of Adam taking 2 wickets, each of them caught and bowled. The reply was then led by Liam, scoring 52 runs out of the 68 Burnley eventually finished with to win after only 11.3 overs. The biggest victory of the season came next though, as Burnley ran out winners by 220 runs on a historic day. For starters, Burnley rocked up 325-4 in their 50 overs. Liam(46), Qas(36) and Callum(48) set the foundation for Ocki and Ryan to pummel the opposition. It was Ocki’s first official game as League captain, and he celebrated by bringing up his only hundred of the season, finishing unbeaten on 104 from 104 balls. Ryan also showed off his destructive power by hitting three 7’s on his way to 72 from only 33. Bharat then stole the show with the ball, following on from his 5fer the week before, he followed that up by taking 8-40 from 15 overs. He was on course for 10, having taken all 8 wickets to start with, before Ocki and then Ferg finished the game off with Darwen all out for 105 in reply.
The first half of the season came to a close with another victory, this time at Tod in a rain affected game. Burnley scored 261-4 in their full 50 overs. Liam got the team off to a good start with another half century, whilst Ocki and Ryan followed on their good form. Ocki notching an unbeaten 90(85), with Ryan adding 74 of his own, the two added 161 together to post a heavy total. In a shortened second innings, Tod needed 134 from 23.3 but were only able to reach 104-4. Which meant Burnley had a 4 game winning streak alive going into the second half of the season.
The winning feeling continued into the start of the second half of the season, with another strong win vs Greenmount. Jack Brunt made his highest score in First team cricket with 35, Qas offered excellent support with 38, while Ocki continued his excellent form, this time with 55 as his team posted 221-9. Baz, Hodgey and Ishy all took a wicket each, but Ocki starred with ball as well as bat, taking 5fer to bowl the opposition out for 142. Burnley made it 6 League wins in a row with victory over Littleborough next. Bowling the opposition out for 156, with Adam and Jack taking 2 each, while Ocki claimed 3 wickets. The chase was led by Callum who top scored with 40, with runs also coming from Liam(32), Qas(27) and Ryan(25). Winning by 5 wickets with 10 overs left. This result left Burnley top of the table thanks to their winning run.
The streak came to an end however with defeat against Haslingden. Another 5fer from Ocki, along with 3 from Baz and 2 from Ferg meant Hassy were all out for 188. Burnley struggled in reply, with the highest score from the top 7 only reaching 17. Bharat showed resistance and fight, reaching 39 before he was out, with Ishaq also making his highest League score at 21. But Burnley were dismissed for 156.
It was only a stumble in form however, as Burnley roared back with a dominant derby victory over Lowerhouse. Qasim made his second half century of the summer, reaching 58 from only 46 balls. Ocki also plundered 39 from 34, and Aarav scored his maiden First team League runs with 12* from 10. Burnley made 178 from their 26 overs in a shortened game. When bowling, Baz made his mark again, taking 5-39 including the game winning wicket to bowl out the opposition for 122. Ocki and Fergus also managed 2 wickets apiece with Joe taking 1.
From one huge game came another, as the top two teams played each other. Burnley vs Walsden. Burnley batted first and made 256-6. The openers set a strong platform with Bedders making 55 from 54, and Qas 46 from 45. Ryan top scored with 66 from 62, aided by Joe also adding 35 runs of his own. With the ball, Hodgey, Ferg and Ocki all claimed a pair of wickets each, but they were led by Baz who took 4 of his own to bowl Darwen out for 179 and cement their position at the top of the League. The gap widened to 26 points following another win, this time over Norden. The opposition were dismissed for 174 in the first innings, led by Ocki taking 4, with backup from Trip and Ferg taking two each. Jack and Ishaq also claimed a wicket apiece. Several batters then chipped in through the second innings. Liam made 37 and Ocki 40 as the two highest scorers. Then Matt made 27, Joe 22 and Baz 23 to see the team over the line with 10 balls to spare.
Burnley suffered a wobble in their next game vs Ramsbottom. Batting first, the First team were all out for 154, led by Callum who made his highest score of the summer for Burnley with a gutsy 71. No one else however could make it past 20. Rammy in reply only lost 2 wickets and won with 15 overs left, despite Adam making 2 early breakthroughs with the new ball. The team got back on track with victory over Enfield however, Ocki taking 4, Fergus 3 and Bharat 2 wickets to dismiss the opposition for 125. Calling and Ryan matched highest scores with 33 each in reply, Ryan was not out after seeing the side home with 5 wickets and 3.3 overs left.
Rain affected the next game vs Clitheroe. The opposition reached 91-1 after 32 overs when the weather stopped play. Eventually cutting the innings short at that point. Burnley were given the task of chasing 119 from 24 overs. Ocki top scored and got the team close, finishing 49*, but in the end Burnley were left 9 runs short of their total, with only 2 games left now in the season to wrap up the League title.
What followed must be one of the most dramatic League winning matches in history. As Burnley clinched the title with the last ball of the game against Darwen. In another shortened game, the opposition made 150-7 from 44 overs, with Ocki again leading by taking 4fer, Baz with 2 and Ferg with 1. In reply, Burnley stuttered losing wickets at regular intervals whilst chasing the total. Callum top scored with 31, with Matt making 28 and Qas 21. Though it came down the last pair, needing 3 to win from the last ball, a nerveless Ishaq clipped it through the leg side to run those 3 needed and win not only the game, but the League as well.
After winning the League, the First team finished off the summer in style with a victory at home over Todmorden. Reaching 166-7 in the first innings, led by Ryan Canning who top scored in the game with 70, Burnley then bowled out Tod for 134 to signal the celebrations to begin. Fergus starred with ball in hand, taking 5-12 in a typically economic display. Baz and Ocki took 2 whilst Adam chipped in with 1 to end the summer lifting the trophy high at Haffner’s Turf Moor once again.
T20 Competition
The T20 campaign begun at Accrington with a dominant win by 41 points. Burnley reached 177-4 in their 20 overs. Led by Liam Bedford making 83*(53), and Matt Roberts hitting 52(35). Both scores were each batters record highest in T20 cricket, with Matt’s innings being his first half century for Burnley in this format. When bowling, all five of the bowlers used took wickets. Adam and Ocki led with 2 each, to leave Accy 136 after their 20 overs. A hard loss came in the next game vs Great Harwood. Burnley only reached 102-8 in their innings. Ocki top scored with 45, but after that only Jack(21) managed more than 10 runs. Aayaan Naveed took his first wickets in First team cricket, claiming 2-24 but it wasn’t enough as Harwood eased home within 16 overs.
A second defeat against Colne. Bowling first, Ocki took 3-17 but the opposition still managed to reach 148-5 in their innings. Callum(25) got the chase off to a good start, with Bedders also reaching another half century, scoring 64* from 44. But Burnley finished up only scoring 130-6 in their chase. They did go back to winning ways with a strong display against Church. In a shortened game, Ishaq, Hodgey and Aayaan took a wicket each to limit the opposition to 85. In reply, Qasim too scored with 23 to ensure Burnley reached the target with 8 balls to spare. A much needed victory to ensure they still remained in with a chance to proceed into the knockout stages.
Burnley went into the last group game as outsiders for promotion through the group phase. Needing to beat Nelson to finish level on points with them, then beat them by a large enough margin to swing the NRR in their favour. As well as needing Colne to defeat Great Harwood, and hope that the NRR swing in that game was enough for them to leapfrog above Harwood too. Luckily, it all went to plan, and Burnley finished above both Great Harwood and Nelson by the finest margins of Net Run Rate. In the match, Liam got the batting off to another good start, scoring 41(31). But it was the middle order who put the charge on. Ryan Canning made 59*(35) against his old team, whilst Adam brought up his first half century in the format for Burnley and finished 54*(38). Helping the team post 180-4. In reply, Nelson were never close. Jack took two wickets opening up, then Ocki and Aayaan struck out three each. Ishaq took a wicket and claimed a run out to bowl the opposition out for only 131.
A juicy Quarter Final was then served up. As Burnley visited Lowerhouse, with the prize of hosting Finals Day also on the line for the two teams. Burnley bowled first, with Ocki the star again. The captain led the side with 5-31, taking a wicket with the last ball of the innings. Adam and Ishaq also chipped in with a wicket each but Lowerhouse still managed to post 189. Burnley made it look relatively easy however. Qasim got the chase off to a quick start with 31(15), as Callum(23) and Ocki(27) offered support. It was Liam who ran the show though, bringing up a new high score in T20 cricket, he oozed coolness when chasing the score down. Finishing eventually with 86* from 58, alongside Ryan who helped win the game with a rapid 19 from 7 balls. Burnley won with 5 balls to spare and only 3 wickets down in the end.
A home Final’s Day was set up for Burnley, the first time they have hosted the event since it first started in 2017. With Burnley being drawn to play Hassy in the first Semi Final. Though the team were missing two key players, with Adam and Liam both away and unavailable. When the match started, Burnley were bowling first. Jack Brunt snagged two wickets, Ishaq claimed one, whilst Ocki took three. But Hassy were able to set 178 for Burnley to chase. Callum got the team off to a decent start with 19, but no one else in the top order could match his contributions. Joe McCluskie was joined in the middle by Bharat, and the pair of them battled hard to try and turn the game around, Joe managed to record a new personal high score for Burnley in T20’s with 58* from 31, whilst Bharat also reached a new high score of 46 from 34. But there was too much left for them to do in the end, as Burnley fell 17 runs short, a disappointing end to what was an excellent Cup run.
Worsley Cup
Given the success achieved in the League, and the deep run in the T20 Competition, the premature exit in the Worsley Cup will be looked back on as a failure within what was largely a triumphant summer. The first game was a matchup vs MIddleton, with Burnley bowling first. Young seamers Adam and Ishaq led the Bowlers with 3 wickets each, with Joe adding 2 of his own to help bowl the opposition out for 157. It was then time for the two newcomers to show their skill, as Callum scored a gritty 43 from 102, then Ryan top scored with 47* from 68. Liam and Joe again added runs of their own with matching innings of 24 for Burnley to chase down the target with 7 overs left and 5 wickets down.
In the second round, Burnley played Enfield. This time Burnley batted first, but struggled in their innings. Only Ocki(12), Matt(16) and Jack(17) were able to reach double figures. The First team all out from 37.3 overs for only 91. When bowling, Bharat was able to take 2 wickets, with Ocki also claiming 1, but they were beaten soundly by Enfield. As they chased the target down from only 25.4 overs with 3 wickets down. The early exit will be one that the team will look to put back right next year.
Player Performances
The standard with the bat was set this year by Liam Bedford, who top scored across all competitions this year with 809 runs averaging 42.58, which includes 492 runs in the League, and 293 in the T20 campaign. It was the shorter format of the game where Liam starred this year. Scoring those 293 runs in only 5 innings, with three unbeaten half centuries, and uniquely, an average and strike rate that are completely equal at 146.50. His prolific T20 season set various records, not only breaking his personal best score twice this year, but also setting a new benchmark for runs in a T20 campaign for Burnley, his average this year is also the highest for an amateur across one season in League history.
To go along with his quality T20 season, Bedders also piled up five 50’s in the League though he only managed a top score of 55 this year despite those milestones being reached. No doubt that Liam's best inning this year was the crucial T20 Quarter Final vs Lowerhouse. Where he helped chase down 190 with his performance of 86*, featuring ten 4’s and three 6’s as well as the winning runs coming off his bat too. It was a remarkable display under so much pressure. His batting this year has seen him bring up 1000 T20 runs for Burnley, as well as over 4000 now in League cricket for the team.
It was also a prolific summer for new man Ryan Canning. Who brought up 640 runs for the year across all formats. Enjoying 502 of those runs coming in a successful League season. Ryan showed his ability to hit a long ball on multiple occasions, bringing up three 50’s in the League with one in the T20 campaign. His strike rate of 73.60 was the highest average in the team, his power hitting was on full display vs Darwen where he pummeled the bowling for 72 off 33 balls, including one over he took for 30. Across all competitions Ryan averaged 42.67 and proved vital in the middle order all season. Callum Clarke was the other newcomer, and also offered excellent numbers throughout the year, with 572 runs in all competitions. Bringing up two half centuries this summer, Callum brought high value to his wicket and grit to his innings, exemplified by scoring 71 vs Rammy on a day where the next highest scorer for Burnley could only reach 20. Adding a strong backbone to the batting order, he was a very welcome addition to the team this year.
Qasim Shah added a fifth League medal to his collection at the young age of only 24 this summer. Helping the team along the way with 389 runs and two half centuries this summer. also adding 72 runs in T20 cricket this year. Qas had a couple of excellent innings to help in victories over Lowerhouse this year, with a scorching 31 from 15 to get the team of to a great start in the T20 Quarter Final, as well as another quick score of 58 from 46 in a crucial League tie to set an excellent platform from the start. Matt Roberts notched 275 runs across the summer in all competitions. His highlight will be his 52(35) in the first T20 group stage game to bring up his maiden T20 half century for Burnley. Matt was able to bring up 2000 League runs for Burnley in the early part of the year.
Ockert Erasmus continued to show his talent and skill throughout the summer with both bat and ball in hand. Bringing up 757 runs, and 70 wickets across all competitions for Burnley this year. He was the club’s top scorer in the League with 634 runs averaging 42.26, this includes a three game span in the middle of the summer where he scored 249 runs for only one wicket, it was in this rich vein of form that he also scored the only hundred for the First team this year, with 104* in his first game as official club captain vs Darwen. As well as the 100, there also came four 50’s in the League this year and at a strike rate just below 72 came just shy of Ryan as the most aggressive scorer. Ocki dominated with the ball this year too, taking 4fer and 5fer wicket hauls on four occasions each. His ability with the ball was exemplified in the T20 format where he took 16 wickets, the most in the competition this year and one away from equalling the all time record, averaging a very tidy 9.18. It was also this format where his most important performance came, with 5-31 in the famous Quarter Final vs Lowerhouse, where he also narrowly missed out on a hat-trick. Leading his team as Captain and Professional and displaying the characteristics of what makes Ocki such an important part, not only of the team, but the club as a whole.
Ocki passed plenty of milestones this year with his performances, with the most notable being his passing of 10,000 Lancashire League runs, coming in 303 innings between Burnley, Lowerhouse, Accrington and East Lancs. 113 of those innings have now come representing Burnley, where he also passed the mark of 3,000 Lancs League runs for the club, with many more to come too. His exploits in T20 cricket also means he has gone past the marks of 2,000 runs and 100 wickets across his Lancs League career also.
Adam Hodge and Joe McCluskie were able to demonstrate their ability as all round cricketers this summer too. Adam showcased his potential on both sides of the game with 169 runs and 24 wickets in all formats. Becoming an integral part of the bowling unit by opening up in both 50 over and 20 over cricket, forming an excellent opening partnership with Bharat throughout the season. His best bowling figures came in the Worsley cup with 3-34 whilst his best with the bat came with a score of 54* in the important final T20 group stage game vs Nelson, his maiden 50 in that format for Burnley. Joe was limited with his bowling but still managed 9 wickets from 49 overs spread throughout the year, his main contributions came with the bat, where he knocked 246 runs in all competitions, averaging just north of 22. His talent was on show in the T20 Semi Final, with his highest score for Burnley, 58*, when trying to chase down the opposition total and put the team on his back.
Onto the bowlers, and as usual, Bharat Tripathi was outstanding again this year. Taking 48 wickets in the League, the highest for an amateur this year, with an economy of only 2.65, the lowest for anyone with 10+ overs bowled in the competition. Though he was just short of Ocki’s wicket tally, Baz did finish with a better average of 12.95 and developed a crucial role in opening the bowling with Adam that put teams under pressure from the very first ball. Baz managed a 5fer on three occasions this year, with a 4fer once also. His best performance came in a dominant display against Darwen, where he took all of the first 8 wickets to fall and finished eventually with 8-40, his best performance in any Lancashire League appearance. His bowling performances this year took him past 700 Lancs League wickets, 696 of those coming for Burnley which extends his record of most wickets as an amateur for the club, with a lot more to come to make the record seemingly impossible to reach.
Fergus Bailey again showed his skills this year. With unerring accuracy, discipline and ability. Snatching up 32 wickets in the League to equal his best performance in a Burnley shirt, back in 2022. His wickets came at a strong average of only 16.12 and a tight economy of 3.29. Ferg brought the season to an end with a stunning display of 5-12 in the last game, which was his solo 5fer of the year and also his best figures in a Burnley shirt.
Youngsters also played a big part for the team this year. To start with Jack Brunt and Ishaq Khan, who were in the First team throughout the summer. Ishy took 12 wickets this season, with a best of 3-31 in the Worsley Cup. He was a big part of the T20 team, bowling the second most overs in that format this year. Though his highlight of the year may be the winning runs he hit at Darwen to clinch the League title. Jack was able to take 11 wickets, to go along with 138 runs in the League batting up and down the order. His high score of 38 came in a crucial partnership with Ocki at Greenmount to ensure Burnley didn’t collapse to a poor total. Aayaan Navved was a stand out performer in T20 cricket over the summer, taking 6 wickets in his debut year in the First team, equal with Ishaq for the second most in the format. Aayan managed a best of 3-30 and averaged an excellent 20.16 in his appearances too. Aarav Neherkar made his maiden First team runs in the League, as well as appearing in T20 cricket, to take his tally of runs for all Burnley senior cricket this year to 1,058. A shame that he won’t be able to realise his potential at the club with his departure.
We give a huge thanks to Jamie, Richard, Dave and anyone else who has helped out throughout the year with ensuring the ground has been in as good shape as possible, given all the dry weather and amount of cricket played, a lot of work has gone in from all the volunteers and staff. To Sarah, Emily, Michaela and the rest of the bar staff that has kept up with everyone’s immense thirst with the heat over the summer. Thanks to Harry, Isaac and others who have put the time in to score and deal with the technical side of Play Cricket. And also to Blakey, Morty, Hannah(s), Roy, Ken, Trevor, Luke, Helen and everyone who supports the club every weekend, whether it is the First, Second or Third team. The club is nothing without people coming to watch and support the players through any conditions. Important to mention Ribble Wealth Management ltd for their support in sponsoring all of the Senior teams this year, and of course Haffner’s for their sponsorship of the ground.
It is also important however to take a moment to remember those who couldn’t celebrate this season with us however. First to Phil Broadhurst, whose presence has been a major loss around the club, with the time he put in to volunteer, support and help out in whatever ways he could. His sudden passing in April was felt heavily, with so many people coming to the funeral to remember him that the venue simply wasn’t big enough. We also remember Nick Howarth who passed away in March. A common sight at the club and part of the balcony boys, his life was celebrated during the Burnley vs Lowerhouse fixture with lots of people coming down to pay their respects, which showed how popular he was to so many. And we also give thoughts to Chris and his family, as he lost his Mother, Elizabeth Burton, in July. She was another who was a constant presence around the club on matchday and gave her support to the team over many years, leaving an impact on everyone that was lucky to know her. Apologies if there is anyone we have missed.
Not long now until we start with winter nets again, and the Presentation Evening to celebrate the players that have earned their awards and applause. We can’t wait to go at it all over again next year!
