Junior Section

Welcome!

Burnley Cricket Club is extremely proud of its strong and successful youth policy. The Club has always had an ethos which has developed young cricketers and encouraged them to reach their potential. At the present time we have four County players: David Brown, Michael Brown, Jonathan Clare and James Anderson who have come through the ranks at Burnley Cricket Club.

Could YOU be the next James Anderson??

Burnley Cricket Club provides opportunities for young people between the ages of 8 and 17 to receive coaching and competition within the Lancashire Cricket League Junior Competition structure. All coaching is carried out by qualified coaches who are trained and have been screened for their suitability for working with young people. Parents are welcome to attend all training sessions and competitions and your support and involvement is greatly appreciated. The club has a small membership fee of £15. If you require any further information, please contact the Club.

Welcome!

On behalf of Burnley Cricket Club, I would like to welcome you and your child to our Club. The Club provides opportunities for young people between the ages of 7 and 17 years to receive coaching and the chance to play competitive matches.

All our coaches have been screened for their suitability for working with young people. The Cricket Committee in February 2008, appointed John Heys and Wendy Harvey as Club Welfare Officers. This involves overseeing the Welfare of Young People policies which the ECB have introduced to make our club safe, effective and child friendly.

We welcome parents to training and matches and value your support. We are keen to try and involve more parents in the Club. Do you have a particular skill/business interest which may be of benefit to the club (e.g. First Aid Certificate, physiotherapist, umpire, journalist etc …)? If so, please make yourself known to myself or one of the coaches.

Coaching sessions take place on Thursday evenings from 22nd April to the last week in August from 6:30 – 8pm. Registration will take place in the Tearoom from 6:00 – 6:45pm. If wet, please check by ringing your child’s team manager.

Best wishes for the season!

Yours in cricket
