TOUR MATCH

On Wednesday 28th July Burnley Cricket Club hosted a tour match between Burnley & Lowerhouse U15s select v Louth CC U15 (Lincolnshire). Unfortunately the weather got the better of us and the game was unable to take place. However, following a delicious lunch, a bowl out took place which resulted in a draw. Burnley Cricket Club would like to thank Louth CC for their visit and we hope to see you again in the future - good luck for the rest of the season!

Dear Andy

A sincere message of thanks to you all at Burnley Cricket Club for allowing our Under 15s team the opportunity to visit your ground last week.

Your lads were a pleasure to be with and the hospitality was greatly appreciated. I would be grateful if you were able to pass on our thanks to all of the adults and team members involved.

Despite the weather, our lads must have learnt a great deal about the quality of Cricket that is played in your area - the pavilion itself is quite an education.

IMany, many thanks,

Malcolm Kerridge  Louth CC

WELCOME GARY!

A warm welcome to Gary Brent who is joining us as our Pro until the end of the season. All at Burnley Cricket Club wish him luck and hope he enjoys his time with us.

Burnley Football Club

The Cricket Club enjoys a special relationship with Burnley Football Club. In close proximity, the clubs work co-operatively to provide a high standard of sport for the people of Burnley. Interestingly Burnley Cricket Club were in existence before the Clarets! It was the Cricket Club who invited the football club to join them at the Turf Moor Ground. The close relationship which has built up over the years was illustrated at the end of the 2006 Cricket season when Burnley Cricket Club were triumphant in the Lancashire League. The Football Club invited the team to a reception in the Chairman’s lounge and then carried out a lap of honour with the League Trophy. The clubs works closely together. Many of the spectators enjoy a dual role, supporting the Clarets in the winter and the Cricket Club in the summer. In the inevitable overlap of the seasons, they can enjoy a game of football, walk around the corner and enjoy the second innings of a game of cricket!
